Peers Recognize Michael E. Clark

- Mr. Clark was appointed by William H. Neukom, the President of the American Bar Association, to serve a three year term as one of 12 members of the ABA's Standing Committee on Publishing Oversight (SCOPO), which provides direction to all ABA publications;
- He was selected to serve on the Governing Council of the ABA's Section of Health Law; and
- He was invited to join the editorial board of the ABA Section of Business Law's quarterly publication, The Business Lawyer, a peer-reviewed business law journal circulated to approximately 60,000 readers that includes articles of significant interest to business lawyers, including case law analysis, and developing trends.
Clark has served as Chair of the White Collar Crimes Committee within the ABA Section of Business Law; Chair of the Publications Committee of the ABA Section of Health Law; and Co-chair of the South Texas Region of the White Collar Committee of the ABA Section of Criminal Justice. He is also one of four members of the Planning Committee for the ABA's National Institute on Securities Fraud. Last year's National Institute was held on October 25-26, 2007 at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC.

- In October 26, 2007, Mr. Clark moderated a panel entitled Perspective and Proportion: Keeping Civil and Regulatory Matters out of Criminal Court for the ABA's National Institute on Securities Fraud.
- On August 11, 2007, Mr. Clark moderated a panel entitled Foreign Corrupt Practice Act Issues in Emerging Markets: How to Evaluate and Minimize the Risks? that addressed many of the heightened risks that businesses are facing in emerging markets for the Business Law Section during the ABA's 2007 Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
- On June 26, 2007, Mr. Clark spoke on a panel entitled Trade Secrets and Confidential Business Information at the ABA's inaugural National Institute on Computing and the Law, held in San Francisco, California.
